Our Character Building Curriculum focuses on the spiritual development of youth with a guidance to encourage their moral compass. We help youth to appreciate the values of honest, integrity, care for themselves, their family and their fellow neighbor.

WYB defines our primary impact as being a catalyst to further the local, regional and national conversation that there are multiple pathways to success. We introduce underserved youth to STEM construction related hobbies, entrepreneurship opportunities, entrepreneurs, apprenticeships, activities and careers as a viable alternative to the only college paradigm.

In our early years, the curriculum was primarily based on the tape measurer. Since then we have developed more of a construction math curriculum that includes budgeting, basic project estimating, fractions, percentages, decimals and more

It's just flat out not possible to avoid immersing our students in classic literature. Each Wise Young Builder has to read such classic books as Booker T. Washington's "Up From Slavery" and James Weldon Johnson's "The Autobiography of an Ex-Colored Man". We have found that among other reading material, this books reinforce the value of having skills.
